Care for your car like a pro
A clean car is not just a matter of aesthetics. It's an investment: it protects the paint, preserves the value of the vehicle, and makes every journey a different experience. At Driverbar, we believe that anyone, with the right knowledge and products, can achieve professional-level results at home.
This course guides you from scratch: what products to use, in what order, how to avoid the most common mistakes, and how to maintain the result with minimal weekly effort.

How to make the most of this course?
Read each module in order the first time. Then use it as a quick reference when you're going to wash. The gold boxes are key tips; the gray boxes are the products we use at Driverbar.

Fundamentals: The Most Common Mistakes
Why does technique matter?
Most scratches and swirl marks on paint don't come from the sun or rain: they come from poor washing technique. The wrong cloth, circular motions, or rubbing without enough water do more damage than a thousand miles on the road.
The 5 mistakes you should avoid
• Washing with a sponge — Sponges trap dirt and drag it across the paint like sandpaper.
• Using all-purpose soap or dish soap — They remove protective wax and dry out plastics.
• Drying with paper or a cotton towel — They leave lint and micro-scratches. Always use microfiber.
• Washing in direct sunlight — Water and soap evaporate before you can rinse them off, leaving stains.
• Starting wherever you want — There's a correct order: from top to bottom, from less dirty to more dirty.
Golden rule
Never apply pressure to the paint without lubrication. Water + car soap = safe glide. Without them, every movement is a risk.

MODULE 02
The Essential Product Kit
You don't need 30 products to get started. With this basic kit, you can do 90% of washing and protection tasks.

-Car shampoo (pH neutral)
Cleans without attacking wax or plastics. Essential.
-Washing microfiber (at least 2)
For lathering. Soft, absorbs dirt without scratching.
-Drying microfiber (at least 2)
Highly absorbent. Much larger than washing microfibers.
-Iron remover
Removes embedded iron particles and brake dust from paint and wheels. Essential for real decontamination.
-Interior cleaner
Multi-surface for dashboard, doors, and plastics.
-Wax or paint sealant
Basic post-wash protection. Provides shine and shields against water.
Water gun with adjustable nozzle
Allows rinsing without damage and applying variable pressure.

How much does it cost to assemble the kit?
A complete basic kit (products + microfibers) costs between €40 and €70. It's a one-time investment that lasts for months. At Driverwash, you'll find all this selected and tested by us.

Exterior Wash Step-by-Step
Always follow this order. Each step has its logic: preventing dirt from rising instead of falling and protecting the most delicate areas.
1. Pre-wash — pressure rinse
With cold water, from top to bottom. The goal is to remove the layer of dust and loose dirt before touching the bodywork with anything. Pay special attention to the undercarriage and wheel arches.
2. Decontamination with iron remover
Apply the iron remover to dry or damp paint and wheels. You'll see it turn purple as it reacts with iron particles. Leave it on for 3-5 minutes and rinse thoroughly. This step removes what shampoo cannot.
3. Shampoo — two-bucket method
Prepare two buckets: one with clean water and soap, the other with only clean water. Lather a section, transfer the microfiber to the clean bucket to rinse off the dirt, then return to the bucket with soap. This way, you never put dirt back onto the car.
4. Work in sections
Divide the car into zones: hood, roof, sides, trunk, bumpers. Rinse each section before the soap dries.
5. Complete final rinse
Rinse the entire car from top to bottom with plenty of water. Make sure there are no traces of soap on moldings, seals, and mirrors.
6. Drying with microfiber
Don't let it air dry: water leaves water spots. Use a large microfiber, with gentle linear motions (never circular). Start with the roof and finish with the undercarriage.

Ideal temperature
Always wash in the shade and with the bodywork cool to the touch. If the car has been in the sun, wait 15 minutes. Heat evaporates the soap before you can rinse it off.
pH Neutral Concentrated Shampoo · Driverwash
High concentration, no need for pressure rinsing. Compatible with all paints.
